RE: Donations

Some of you may have noticed the Donate button just above ^-----, so I'm writing a little post for any questions you might have etc.

I don't want to put adds on this site, so alternatively I'm accepting donations to go towards hosting and other fees (forum license, to name one) to keep the site going fast, and everything updated.

I've been hosting the website for almost 5 years now, for a community that I love and was once (and still am, kind of!) a part of. I've come and gone from WoW over the years, but this little community site is still my baby.

Regardless of any donations whoever it is reading this post may decide to give, the site will remain going for as long as people still use it, and probably a bit longer than that... As I said, it's my baby and I want to look after it.

With that said, the site and the forums do require a small bit of money to keep going; any donations you can give will be most appreciated. I know times are tough at the moment, so don't put yourself out. You guys don't owe me anything

Update #1 ! - Updated vBulletin thanks to donations. Added free arcade to the forum (available to install (not run) only if you have a current valid license with vBulletin).

Out of curiosity, what does it cost to run the forums? I had assumed it was free. What else isn't free? Dkp site? TS?

It costs a around $30 a month to keep the website running, including hosting fees and forum licenses.

I know there are free forums around like phpbb and simplemachines and others, but they seem to have a lot more bugs and security holes and didn't have the features I wanted for the site. There are alot of neat mods for vbulletin too so I decided to go with that one.

The DKP site is a separate website and is supported by adds, and Internode hosts the TS server for their customers

Thank you Gleeby for running the forums all this time.

I think most of us thought there was secret little elves working on the forums in a sweat shop for free at night when we slept.
